Family medicine specialist working 30 years in Oslo inner city. Associate professor at Oslo University since 1996, teaching undergraduate students and training family medicine residents. Active in public debate, columnist for many years, experienced speaker and passionate advocate for primary care and family medicine.
Leading positions in family medicine organisations for 25 years, at the Norwegian, Nordic, European and now global level. WONCA World president- elect since 2018, will take office as president in November 2020. WONCA is the World Organisation of Family Doctors, – worldwide representing more than ½ million family doctors engaged in research, education and professional development.
A main area of interest is how family doctors can be enabled to adapt to current trends, – like digitalization, increased fragmentation and specialization in medicine -, and still provide personal, continuous and comprehensive care at first point of contact.
Michael is a policy analyst at OECD, and is specialized in health systems performance assessment, quality of care, performance indicators and primary care. His current work is driven by the ambition to move towards a new generation of indicators that will enhance international learning on value of healthcare as reported by patients themselves. He is passionate about international collaboration and as a member of the OECD Health Division, he helps countries achieve high-performing health systems. Michael studied sociology, wrote a PhD thesis on the workload of GPs and has been working on health services research and policy advice more than seventeen years.
Michael is managing the development of an international survey of chronic patients within the framework of OECD’s Patient Reported Indicator Surveys initiative.
Alen Kobilica, the most recognizable Slovenian in the international fashion world, is marked by extremes – extreme achievements, extreme performances and extreme challenges.
He is a graduate professor at the Faculty of Sport in Ljubljana. He has numerous licenses – swimming instructor and licensed professional lifeguard in Slovenia as well as in the USA, skiing trainer, experienced football player, swimmer, volleyball player and a big fan of running. His top-level sports achievements are the proof of his will and desire to overcome all obstacles that occur in life. Alen transforms obstacles into challenges and faces them with greatness and decisiveness. His sports career started immediately after the diagnosis of the damage to the optic nerve, resulting in complete blindness. Sport challenges brought him back in the elite level. When the world famous model and fashion agency owner lost his sight over night, he did not enter in the world of darkness. On the contrary – he found a new light and devoted himself to new goals. In his 13-year career as a professional model he worked with renowned fashion designers such as: Giorgio Armani, Gianfranco Ferre and brands like: Bulova watches, Rochas Aquaman perfume, Fendi, Krizia, Davidoff, Cacharel, Zegna…
Alen Kobilica is also the founder and ambassador of the “Vidim Cilj” (I see the goal) Center that supports and encourages blind, visually impaired and children with different disabilities to be physically active and regularly engaged in sports such as: swimming, skiing, running, tandem biking, exercising etc. For his special contribution to the society he was honored in September 2016 with an award from the president of Slovenia Borut Pahor – the Apple of Inspiration Award.
