Diederik Aarendonk, EFPC’s coordinator, took the stage at the 15th anniversary celebration of the Tallinn Charter in Estonia, #Tallinncharter2023. During the ministerial lunch, he delivered a concise 4-minute address, delving into pivotal aspects of Primary Care: Trust, Growing Demand, Patient Needs, and Accessibility & Availability of Primary Care.

He posed challenging questions to the ministers: “Where should finances be reallocated as we amplify investments in Primary Care?” and “Are you open to intensifying focus on Social Determinants, while scaling back on clinical care and further medical specialization?” The response was overwhelmingly positive, with 55% of participants endorsing Primary Care investment as the top priority. Mental health trailed closely behind with a noteworthy 30% of the votes.

We eagerly look forward to the unfolding developments and await the upcoming transformations with enthusiasm!
